New Waste Collection System Information
(till December)
New Waste Collection System will be introduced from July 1st,1997.
The designated item specific rubbish collection bags will be used and more
specific waste separation system will be introduced. No waste bags other
than the designated ones will be collected. the type of waste and their
collection method are as follows;
Ordinary Garbage
Collection day : Twice a week, depends on which district
you residens.
- Monday & thursday : inth district of
- Honmachi, Johoku, Hirose, Onominato, Daishin, Fukiage, Sunayama, Takamatsu,
Saika, Miyakita Shikago, Nakanoshima, Ashihara, Saikazaki, Wakaura, Minato,
Matsue, Kimoto, Nishiwaki, Kada, Imabuku, Tano
- Tuesday & Friday : in the district of
- Miya, Nozaki, Santa, Kishi, Kusumi, Nishiwasa, Okazaki, Yasuhara, Wasa,
Higashi-Sando, Nishi-Sando, Isao, Nogawa, Kawanaga, Kii, Yamaguchi
For Shinnan, Miyamae and Nagusa districts, collection days will vary
within the district. Please check whether it is Monday/Thursday course
or Thesday/Friday course.
- Use waste bags specifically designed for ordinary garbage and put then
out at the designated collection place by 8:00 a.m. on the colection day.
- Try to make the volume smaller by breaking or folding.
- Try to lighten wet gabage by squeezing it.
- Wrap glass or china in paper to ensure the safety of those handling
it's disposal.
- What else gose in ordinary garbage
- Coping waste, unrecyclablepaper (tissue paper, waterproof paper, window
envelopes,direct mails, fax paper etc.), fallen leaves, glass & china
(inc. fluorescent taubes), plastics, toys and dry batteries.
Cans
(including metals and kitchen utensils)
Collection day : Twice a week, depends on which district
you residens.
- 1st & 3rd Wednesday : inth district of
- Shinnan, Miya, Miyamae, Minato ,Nozaki, Santa, Okazaki, Kawanaga, kii,
Yamaguchi
- 2nd & 4th Wendnesday : in the district of
- Honmachi, Johoku, Onaominato, Daishin, Miyakita, Nakanoshima, Nagusa,
Kimoto, Nishiwaki, Yasuhara, Higashi-Sando, Nishi-Sando
- 1st & 3rd Saturday : in the district of
- Saika, Shikago Saikazaki, Wakaura, Matsue, Kishi, Nishiwasa, Wasa,
Ogura, Tano
- 2nd & 3rd Saturday : in the district of
- Hirose, Fukiage, Sunayama, Takamatsu, Ashihara, Kusumi, Isao, Nogawa,
Kada, Imabuku
- Use waste bags specifically designed for cans and put them out at the
designated collection place by 8:00 a.m. on the collection day
- Rinse inside the cans using if possible waste water (bath/washing water).
- Use up spray cans and deflate them to reduce the risk of explosions.
- Remove wood or plastics form kitchen utensils.
Bottles
Collection day : Once a month, depends on which district
you resides.
- 2nd Wednesday : in the district of
- Shinnan, Miya, Miyamae, Minato, Nozaki, Santa, Okazaki, Kawanaga, Kii,
Yamaguchi
- 1st Wednesday : in the district of
- Honmachi, Johoku, Onaminato, Daishin, Miyakita, Nakanoshima, Nagusa,
Kimoto, Nishiwaki, Yasuhara, Higashi-Sando, Nishi-Sando.
- 2nd Saturday : in the district of
- Saika, Shikago, Saikazaki, Wakaura, Matsue, Kishi, Nishiwasa, Wasa,
Ogura, Tano
- 1st saturday : im the district of
- Hirose, Fukiage, Sunayama, Takamatsu, Ashihara, Kusumi, Isao, Nogawa,
Kada, Imabuku
- Use waste bags specifically designed for bottles and put them out at
the designated collection place by 8:00 a.m. on the collection day.
- Remove caps from bottles. (Those caps go in "ordinary garbage")
- Rinse inside the bottled using if possible waste water (bath/washing
water).
- Please return recyclable bottles to your nearest shop.
"Pet" Bottles
Collection day : Once a month, depends on which district
you resides.
- 4th Wednesday : in then district of
- Shinnan, Miya, Miyamae, Minato, Nozaki, Santa, Okazaki, Kawanaga, Kii,
Yamaguchi
- 3th Wednesday : in then district of
- Honmachi, Johoku, Onaminato, Daishin, Miyakita, Nakanoshima, Nagusa,
Kimoto, Nishiwaki, Yasuhara, Higashi-Sando, Nishi-Sando
- 4th Saturday : in the district of
- Saika, Shikago, Saikazaki, Wakaura, Matsue, Kishi Nishiwasa, Wasa,
Ogura, Tano
- 3th Saturday : in the district of
- Hirose, Fukiage, Sunayama, Takamatsu, Ashihara, Kusumi Isao, Nogawa,
Kada, Imabuku
- Use waste bags specifically designed for "pet" bottles and
put them out at the designated collection place by 8:00 a.m. on the collection
day.
- Remove caps from bottles. (Those caps go in "ordinary garbage")
- Rinse inside the bottled using if possible waste water (bath/washing
water).
Paper ad Cloth
(paper = newspapers, magazines, crdboard, milk/juice, cartons, etc.)
Collection day : Once a month, depends on which district
you resides.
- 4th Wednesday : in then district of
- Shinnan, Miya, Miyamae, Minato, Nozaki, Santa, Okazaki, Kawanaga, Kii,
Yamaguchi
- 3th Wednesday : in then district of
- Honmachi, Johoku, Onaminato, Daishin, Miyakita, Nakanoshima, Nagusa,
Kimoto, Nishiwaki, Yasuhara, Higashi-Sando, Nishi-Sando
- 4th Saturday : in the district of
- Saika, Shikago, Saikazaki, Wakaura, Matsue, Kishi Nishiwasa, Wasa,
Ogura, Tano
- 3th Saturday : in the district of
- Hirose, Fukiage, Sunayama, Takamatsu, Ashihara, Kusumi Isao, Nogawa,
Kada, Imabuku
- Use string (not waste bags) to tie the paper/clothes up and them out
at the designated collection place by 8:00 a.m. on the collection say.
- Put items out separately.
- For milk/juice cartons, rinse cut fold flat and dry.
- Cartons coated inside with aluminium are "ordinary garbage".
Large Items or Garbage
- Large items or garbages mean consumers durable goods or a part of them
of over 30Cm of square.
- To request the collection, apply on a designated postcard. The postcards
are available at City Hall (8th floor, Gyoum-daiikka) and each liaison/branch
office.
- We accept the applications from all areas, collection varies on district.
Please call 35-1066 (Gyoumu-daiikka,City Hall) for details.
- Over sized items (items Unloadable on a truck), uncrushable items and
items with explosives, flammable substance and poisonous substance will
not be collected.
Incidental Refuses
- Incidental refuses mean refuses from moving and/or general house cleaning.
- Please bring those refuses into those facilities listed below by your
means.
- Aogishi Energy Center (1342-3 Minato, Wakayama City Tel:28-4153)
- open everyday from noon to 3:00 p.m.
If you wish to bring in those refuses on Sunday, you must submit a permit
issued by Gyoum-daiikka of City Hall.
- No.2 Plant (47-3 Moriotebo, Wakayama City Tel:71-1781)
- Open evryday from 10 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. except Sunday.
Uncollectable Items/Refuses
- Please return explosive item, flammable items and poisonous item to
the shop youbought them or rent them from.
- Uncollectable items/refuses include Gas Cylinders, Fire Extinguishers,
Motorcycles, Motorized farming machines, Batteries (except dry battries),
Farm Chemicals, paint, thinner, Electric/Solar water-hearers, TVs, refrigerators
(over 250L) farming equipments, pianos, tyres, air conditioners, broken
tiles and building scraps.
- Please dispose broken tiles and building scraps by you own means. If
the amont of those broken tiles and building scraps are small, please bring
in to No.2 Plabt.
