Water Supply

1. Water srvice in Wakayama City is managed by the Waterworks Bireai in the City Hall.
   Water is made safe and clean at varius water purification plants to be supplied to your household. Accordingly, water quality is safe and it fit to drink at it is. However, in a multi-story building, water is stored in water tanks.
   For fear of contamination, before drinking, it is necessary to be boiled. It is reauired that these tanks are cleaned and checked at least once a year.
2. Paying water rates
   1. The Waterworks Bureau sends you a bill and you pay at a bank or a post office.
   2. Automatic can be made for money(jido-barai). Arrangement can be mode for maney to be automatically transfered from your bank or postal account for the payment of bill. Later a recept is send to you.
   3. A bill collector visits you for payment.
3. When you use water, take care of the following points.
   1. When moving in.
      please go to the Waterworks Bureau in the City Hall. After having sealed the official procedures, the meter will be set and water will be supplied.

   2. When you moving out.
      Please contact the Waterworks Bureau 3-4 days befor you want the water supply cut.

   3. When water supply is suspended.
      Inthe case of water supply beging cut off for waterworks maintenace, an announcement will be made beforhand and we apprecation your cooperation. In the case of an accident, water may suddenly be cut off.
   4. When faucet is turned off but still dtips, The faucet washer is worn down. Please replace it yourself.
